The Mayor of Zhongshan City Mr Xiao Zhanxin led a delegation to visit UIC on 18 September, in the hope of getting ideas from UIC's campus construction for future plans of building a university in Zhongshan.

UIC President Prof Tang Tao and Provost Prof Chen Zhi led the tour of UIC's gallery, University Hall, Sports Complex and Learning Resource Centre (LRC), and viewed designs of the second-phase campus.
Mr Xiao Zhanxin hoped his visit to UIC could bring more practical experience of campus construction. He also said that the design and space in architecture are well-arranged, making life on the campus more convenient.

UIC President Prof Tang Tao said that Zhongshan and Zhuhai used to be one city in history. He also hoped UIC and the university to be built in Zhongshan could support each other and become better in the future.
